CRITICS Circle Award-winning company Ballet Cymru (formerly Independent Ballet Wales) presents a sparkling and refreshing production based on the fairy tale Beauty and the Beast at Venue Cymru, Llandudno, next week.
Inspired by the creative masterpiece of Jean Cocteau’s classic film La Belle et la Bete, the new ballet features choreography by Creative Wales Award winner Darius James, sets and costumes by some of the most creative artists in Wales and a new score by Welsh composer David Westcott.
Featuring stunning costumes, breathtaking choreography and heartbreaking passion, the production is a thrilling dance event.
Ballet Cymru is made up of young dancers who are pushing the barriers of classical ballet. The company challenges its dancers to interpret some of the finest characters in literature.
