VIENNA Festival Ballet presents its new ballet this season, one of the best-known rags-to-riches fairy tales, Cinderella, at the William Aston Hall in Wrexham tomorrow (Friday) at 7.30pm.
A mistreated young girl, a glass slipper, two comical ugly stepsisters and a handsome prince combine to make the perfect piece of storytelling.
With music taken from a vast array of great Italian composer Rossini’s most famous operatic achievements, a magical score has been put together.
Artistic director Peter Mallek chose Chris Nicolls, a renowned conductor and musical director for ballet, to rearrange and rewrite the music for the ballet.
It was then recorded especially for the company by the leading orchestra in Kosice, Slowakia, conducted by Nicolls himself.
Sheila Styles, one of Sadler’s Wells Royal Ballet’s most expert and idiosyncratic choreographers, has created the ballet.
