Shameless star takes on rep theatre at the New Vic

SHAMELESS star Joanna Higson is taking on a new adaptation of comic masterpiece The Rivals at the New Vic Theatre.
Best known as feisty nurse Maxine Donnelly in the Channel 4 ratings winner, Joanna swaps the Chatsworth estate for 18th century Bath to play heroine Lydia Languish in Theresa Heskins new fast-paced version.
She said: “After two years working on Shameless I’ve been desperate to get back on stage – there is truly nothing quite like live theatre.”
