Abba tribute act comes to Jolly Tar in Wardle

ABBA wannabes Abba will look to make the Jolly Tar in Wardle their Waterloo when they visit on Saturday.

Based in Cheshire, and with more than 800 concerts behind them to date, Abbanow have performed to more than 200,000 ABBA fans worldwide.

Formed in 2000, they played their first gig for personal friend Rod Leisel (Bjorn Again) and with his seal of approval took their show on the road.

Now, 10 years later, they are bringing the show and playing on home turf.

Featuring talented singers Michelle and Angie, they provide stunningly authentic portrayals of Agnetha and Frida.

With both of them studying ballet when they were younger, their choreography and stage performance is very professional and they even have convincing Swedish accents.

For many years Abbanow have been entertaining audiences at large outdoor events, music festivals, theatres, racecourses and hotels.

They have also performed at private events for many celebrities, including Chris Evans, Barbara Windsor, Sally Lindsey, Matt Lucas, and corporate functions for companies including BT, Jaguar, Toyota UK and Lush.

Landlord Ray Bispham said: “We guarantee you will be dancing and cheering for more by the end of the night. So zip up your platforms, put on your flares and sing along with all you favourite ABBA songs.”

The show starts at 9.30pm. Tickets are £5 and on sale now, phone 01270 528283 for more details.
