DANCING shoes are a must at The Lowry in Salford Quays next week when the stage musical of Footloose waltzes in.
The show boasts a host of classic 80s anthems such as Holding Out For A Hero, Almost Paradise, Let’s Hear It For The Boy, and of course the title track, Footloose.
The story tells of life in small-town Bomont which is peaceful – until city boy Ren arrives. Breaking every taboo, Ren brings dance back to the heart of a town held back by the memory of a tragedy.
Award-winning actor Steven Pinder, of Brookside and Doctors fame, takes to the stage as the Reverend Shaw Moore.
He is joined by star of the future Max Milner, who plays Ren, a role that launched the careers of Kevin Bacon following the iconic 1984 film and Derek Hough, who shot to fame in the musical production in 2006.
A show spokesman said: “Footloose has become a stage musical phenomenon.
“From Broadway to the West End and touring across the UK, it is packed full of electrifying dance routines, guaranteed to get you to your feet.”
The show runs from Monday until Saturday, April 2. Tickets are £12-£29, to book phone the box office on 0843 208 6000 or visit www.thelowry.com.
