Comedian Russell Kane to appear athe Brindley, Runcorn, in autumn

AWARD-WINNING comedian Russell Kane will be rolling into the Brindley this autumn.

Kane, who performed in the final of Let’s Dance For Comic Relief on Saturday, mercilessly explores the ridiculous state of masculinity in the modern world.

During the show he shaves his chest hair while the audience watches and laughs.

In June, 2006, he became the face of TV station Five US.

He has been nominated for the Edinburgh Comedy Awards at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, winning the main prize in August 2010.

In May 2008 he joined the line-up for the Q Radio relaunch.

He has been described by The Times as ‘a seriously good comedian’.

In 2009, he brought to Edinburgh with two new shows one entitled Fakespeare which is a play, and his stand-up show Human Dressage which earned him an Edinburgh Comedy Award for the third time.

The comedian has appeared on the presenting team of the 2009 ITV2 show I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here Now, a role which he reprised for the 2010 edition of the show.

He presented Freak Like Me on BBC Three last year.

The programme focused on the strange habits of various members of society.
