CREWE’S own Booze ’n’ Blues Festival is back on Sunday at The Box in Crewe.
The venue introduced the event last year, and another eight-hour blues-a-thon is to take place across two stages.
Confirmed acts include Hokie Joint – a five-piece from Colchester whose style is fuzzing slide guitar and driving bass, but also emotional vocals, sweeping harmonica and mesmerising drumming.
A festival spokesman said: “These musicians have covered all corners of the blues that influenced them and forged together a refreshing new sound – a vibrant, stimulating live band, harking back to the club scene of the sixties but with a distinctively original modern approach.”
Also on the bill is Liverpool legend Joey Shields, who has played in some top Liverpool bands since the 60s.
He will host the event and perform timeless blues including Spoonful, Terrorplane and Key To The Highway.
Meanwhile, MojoJim & The Muddy Wulfs are also back. The classy blues group from South Wales keep delivering electrifying authentic blues and scorching live shows to thunderous applause.
The acoustic stage is at Bar Seven and is £5. The electric stage at The Box is £10. Two-stage passes are £12.50.
