Jolly Tar pub near Nantwich prepares for top week of gigs

REGULARS the Salt City Jazzmen will play their fortnightly slot at The Jolly Tar in Wardle today (Wednesday).

They have a variety of toe-tapping tracks to call on in a repertoire mastered during the past 40 years.

Tomorrow sees the return of Jim Kirkpatrick and his band Heavy Weather, promising a mixture of hard-hitting blues and rock, twinned with a selection of covers from the likes of Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin.

Friday sees local favourites Gambler, who will be raising the stakes with another set of heavy rock anthems delivered with gusto.

Landlord Ray Bispham said: “These guys are an excellent trio who play an interesting set which includes many songs that are not normally covered.”

And, on Saturday, The Sensational Ball & Chain Gang return with a fine selection of rock covers from the likes of AC/DC, Black Sabbath and Status Quo.

All gigs are free and start at 9.30pm. For further details phone the pub on 01270 528283 or visit www.jollytarpub.co.uk.
