HOT on the heels of his 2010 Edinburgh Comedy Award win, I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here Now! presenter Russell Kane is to bring his sell-out Fringe smash Smokescreens & Castles to William Aston Hall at Glyndwr University, Wrexham, on February 2.
The comic – well known for well-known for his appearance on BBC One’s flagship live comedy show Live at the Apollo – won the prestigious Edinburgh Comedy Award following four nominations in five years.
Smokescreens & Castles is inspired by Russell’s childhood home; the only council house in his street which had been privately bought – by his Dad – which was mockingly christened ‘The Castle’ by incensed Enfield folk.
One room at time, Russell whisks us through The Castle, blowing away the smoke of history in a whirlwind of high-energy contortions and pant-spraying hilarious routines.
Russell Kane can be seen at the William Aston Hall at Glyndwr University, Wrexham, on February 2 at 8pm. Ring 01978 293293 or visit www.glyndwr.ac.uk/events.
