The Targets headline The Box in Crewe

LOUD, angst-driven mod-punk comes to The Box in Crewe on Friday as The Targets return.

The incendiary Cheshire three-piece bring their explosive new set to Pedley Street following six years of setbacks and heartaches, late nights and sweaty shows.

The band are Conrad Ellis on lead vocals and guitar, Sam Bell on backing vocals and bass and Jess Whitmore on backing vocals and drums.

Sam had the distinction of playing George Harrison in the acclaimed John Lennon bio-pic movie Nowhere Boy.

Hailing from Winsford in Cheshire the young trio have toured the UK twice in the past year, played a string of London showcases and enjoyed residencies in Toronto.

They have also released their debut EP, These Grey Times, and are currently in talks about a major management deal.

Latest single Wake Up was remixed by top producer Chris Sheldon.

The track’s massive, über-catchy chorus pays immediate homage to the likes of 70s punk pioneers The Buzzcocks and The Jam.

Main support comes from The C-Dub Soundtrack, who first came together a couple of years ago through a mutual love of ‘old skool’ hip-hop.

Since then they’ve been rocking stages across the North West and supporting acts such as Goldie Lookin Chain.

They said: “There’s nothing we love more than playing live shows. We want people who come to our shows to have as much fun as we do. So, we try to get the crowd involved as much as possible.”

Further support comes from ever-improving Stoke band Bet It All In Vegas and newcomers Belgrade.

Doors open at 8pm and entry is £5.
