Salt City Jazzmen open week of gigs at Jolly Tar near Nantwich

A BUSY week of gigs has once again been lined up at The Jolly Tar in Wardle, near Nantwich.

First up tonight (Wednesday) is a set from regulars The Salt City Jazzmen.

They play traditional jazz covers from the likes of Kenny Ball, Acker Bilk and Chris Barber.

A band was still to be confirmed for tomorrow at the time of writing, but Friday heralds the return of tribute show Halcyon Nights.

The band specialise in tracks from the 1960s, but also have early 70s tracks in their repertoire.

Finally on Saturday, Led Zeppelin tribute band Mothership touch down at the Jolly Tar.

It is the third visit for the experienced group of musicians who belt out classic Led Zep tracks such as Whole Lotta Love, Immigrant Song and Stairway To Heaven.

Landlord Ray Bishpham said: “Expect all the well known classic songs from many of their albums, and a few surprises! Great vocals too!”

All gigs are free admission and start at 9.30pm. For further information phone the pub on 01270 528283 or visit www.jollytarpub.co.uk.
