MEN Arena in Manchester to host first Sade gig in UK in 17 years

THE MEN Arena in Manchester will host the first UK performance by Sade in 17 years.

Tickets for the performance on Friday, May 27, are priced £55 and £75.

One of only three UK shows planned for next year, the Manchester date will be the first opportunity fans will get to see Sade perform live in the country since 1993’s Royal Albert Hall concert.

Born Helen Folasade Adu in Ibadan, Nigeria, Sade moved to the UK when she was four.

After studying fashion at St Martin’s School of Art, she began singing with North London Latin funk bank Pride.

Since the release of their 1984 debut album, Diamond Life, the band have seen all five of their albums land in the top 10 UK and US charts.

Selling more than 57 million albums worldwide, Sade is the highest selling British female artist of all time and the winner of multiple Brit and Grammy awards.

May’s show will see the group perform tracks from their latest album, Soldier of Love, alongside hits from their 25-year back catalogue.
