Jazz singer Clare Teal to bring her Great British Songbook tour to The Brindley in Runcorn

JAZZ fans are in for a treat when one of the country’s most popular singers brings some classic tunes to The Brindley.

Award-winning Clare Teal is bringing her new Great British Songbook show to Runcorn as part of her European tour.

Clare - who presents Big Band Special, Clare Teal On Sunday and Friday Night is Music Night for BBC Radio 2 – said she is excited about taking her new show on the road.

She said: “I was amazed at just how many British writers have contributed to some of the world’s best known songs.

“A further bit of digging turned up some fantastic lost gems that really deserve to be heard again and the idea for the show came together very quickly.”

The show will feature a selection of songs from the past 80 years including tracks such as Try A Little Tenderness by James Campbell and Reginald Connolly, Smile by the legendary Charlie Chaplin and The First Time Ever I saw your Face by Ewan MacColl.

The show takes place on Friday, October 1.

Tickets are available now priced £16 from The Brindley Box Office on 0151 907 8360 or via the website at www.thebrindley.org.uk.
