Nantwich band The Lockdown play The Box in Crewe
POPULAR South Cheshire band The Lockdown promise a set packed with their trademark hook-laden rock, indie and synth when they appear at The Box in Crewe on Friday.
The band, which formed while at Malbank High School in 2006, return as headliners at the Pedley Street venue.
Following an impressive performance at the Crewe Live 09 Festival, The Lockdown have already earned a number of impressive support slots with the likes of The Clik Clik, Chris Helme from Seahorses and The Joy Formidable.
Frontman Dan Pickton said: “The main aim of our music is to get people to dance and have a good time. Music is one of the few things that can just change your mood in seconds.
“That’s a really powerful thing when you think about it.”
Playing down the band’s hard-grafting work ethic, bassist Matt Hobbs added: “We work hard in practices, so that we can have a laugh on stage and not worry about messing up. It should be a great night.”
Support comes from Anais Labelle and Prad
Doors open at 8pm and tickets are £5 on arrival.
