SHELLSUIT have become something of an anomaly in the money grabbing music world.
Strongly independent, highbrow overachievers, Shellsuit are more about the music and connecting with their fellow man on the street and much less about the money, fame and wanton trappings of the management big wigs.Š
Their debut LP Walton Prison Blues sums up all that is great and all that is not about modern life in working class Great Britain.
They are the shavings left on the floor when the decision was taken to cut away the old industrial working class, comprising of a professional crossworder, a man who invented the gap year by mistake while looking for meaningful work.
Their mission is simple – to provide a soundtrack for the ipods of agency workers cycling to start night shifts and prove that soul music is more than just yodelling while pulling faces.
Shellsuit play Telford’s Warehouse in Chester tonight (Thursday, July 22). Entry £3. Ring 01244 390 090 or visit www.telfordswarehouse.com.
