Tina May’s tribute to the legendary Piaf

AWARD-WINNING jazz vocalist Tina May celebrates the music of French legend Édith Piaf in a one-off concert at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall this month.

May’s exclusive North West appearance features the iconic Piaf’s most famous songs, including La Vie en Rose, Hymne à L’Amour, Milord and Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien, and she shows the vocal ability and stage presence that has won her worldwide acclaim and an array of awards.

The Observer’s Dave Gelly said of May: “For musical taste, delicacy of interpretation and presentational flair Tina May has always been a hard act to follow.

“She is also completely at home in jazz, which isn’t as common among high-profile singers as you might think… a real delight!”

Revered as one of the greatest singers France has ever produced, Piaf’s music reflects a tragic life, with her speciality being the poignant ballad presented with a heartbreaking voice.

Tickets for the concert on Monday, June 14, at 7.30pm are £16 and £22 from 0151 709 3789 or from www.liverpoolphil.com.
