ONE of the world’s most celebrated young jazz singers is bringing a touch of Gallic flair to The Brindley.
Grammy-nominated Stacey Kent is a best-selling member of the Blue Note roster of recording artists and now boasts six best-selling albums and a string of awards.
The New Jersey-born singer has won the British Jazz Award, The BBC Jazz Award for best vocalist, and album of the year, and boasts a massive worldwide fan base.
Her greatest success came with the release of her 2007 Blue Note debut album Breakfast on the Morning Tram, which went platinum in France and gold in Germany, and was also nominated for a 2009 Grammy Award.
Stacey has enjoyed enormous success in France and also has a personal connection to the country.
Her grandfather was a long-term resident and she spent time studying there as an undergraduate.
With her upcoming release, scheduled for May, she goes the extra mile with an all-French album entitled Raconte-moi (Tell Me).
A Brindley spokesman said: “She bridges the divide between genres, elegantly and daintily stamping her own personal hallmark on this shining album.”
Stacey is coming to the venue on Monday, May 10, at 8pm.
Tickets are on sale now priced £18 and £16 concessions from The Brindley box office on 0151 907 8360 or online at www.thebrindley.org.uk.
