NIGHT FRIGHT (Lyceum Theatre, Crewe, April 19-24)

THE chilling murder mystery promises to be a scream when it begins a week-long run from Monday. Former Emmerdale and Bad Girls actor Paul Opacic and Hollyoaks beauty Helen George head up the Ian Dickens production cast as Frank and Jenny Gilman, who think they have found their dream home – a converted chapel in a quiet country village. The dream soon turns into a nightmare, however, as they are attacked by intruders who seem, for some reason, to be only interested in the contents of Frank and Jenny’s deep freezer. OPERA SHOWCASE (Clonter Opera Theatre, Swettenham, April 17)

A NIGHT showcasing emerging artists will be staged at Clonter Opera House. A new event in the Clonter Opera calendar, the showcase will include performances from six talented young singers who are all launching their careers in the operatic world and should be exciting prospects for the future. AUDIENCES will be whisked away on a comical coach journey in this Hull Truck Theatre Company production from BAFTA Award-winning writer John Godber. Join Stick, Frank and Happy Larry as they embark on another coach journey down the Rhine Valley. The three actors take turns playing an assortment of passengers, from the dotty old complainers to the retired miners seeking excitement too late and on too little money. WE’LL MEET AGAIN (Lyceum Theatre, Crewe, April 16)

THE audience can relive the spirit of the forties in an evening of ‘Hits from the Blitz’. The celebration show pays tribute to the legendary stars of the war years, Vera Lynn, Donald Peers, Gracie Fields, and famous comedians, Rob Wilton, Max Miller and Tessie O’Shea.
