Photographer Henry Iddon to display work at The Brindley in Runcorn

A PHOTOGRAPHIC exhibition with a literary twist is to take place at The Brindley.

Photographer Henry Iddon has created a unique view from the summits of the Lake District peaks inspired by the themes and philosophies of Wordsworth and the romantics.

Exploring the mountain tops by night, Iddon set out to capture images of peace and stillness which he said are ‘rare or impossible’ to attain during the daytime.

Paul Hill, course leader of the MA in Photography at De Montfort University, said the images would make people think twice about how they view some of the country’s most beautiful landscapes.

He said: “Like Wordsworth – whose poetry strove to transform everyday reality and to describe a mystical union of man with nature – Iddon’s vision revises the way we perceive these mountains, fells and lakes and our place in this environment”.

Henry Iddon will be joining organisers in the gallery at The Brindley on Saturday, March 13, from 1pm, to talk about his work.

The exhibition continues at the Brindley until Saturday, March 27.

Opening hours are 10am-5pm Monday-Friday, and 10am-3pm Saturday.
