The King and I is performed at Hanley’s Regent Theatre

TIMELESS classic The King and I can expect a royal reception at the Regent Theatre in Hanley today (Wednesday).

Local amateur group Stage Productions have brought the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical to life to tell the tale of a British governess brought into the court of Siam to tutor the King’s many children.

All the songs from the 1956 award-winning film are there including The March of the Siamese Children, Shall We Dance and Getting to Know You.

The show runs until Saturday, with performances at 7.30pm and 2.30pm matinees today and Saturday.
