ARGUABLY Crewe’s most established indie-pop export, Sgt Wolfbanger headline a home gig at The Box in Pedley Street on Friday.
From raw teens enjoying success in a national competition to a band sharing the stage with McFly and numerous NME tips, the five-piece are about to embark on the next phase of their careers.
Now all aged around 21, Wolfbanger are looking to complete their own transition.
With guitar bands largely in limbo due to current trends, Wolfbanger are biding their time until the circle comes around once more.
And in the meantime they are writing new material for a second album as they refine their sound.
Drummer Nath Lundie said: “The industry is tough at the moment and some of the guys are at university but we’re as focused as ever.
“We’ll keep writing, playing gigs and enjoy what we’re doing.”
The band’s visit to The Box is part of a schedule that takes them back across the UK.
Joining them as support are Nantwich new kids Swim Into Scarlet, rising Stoke-on-Trent band The Fears and Sandbach-based Proud Proud People.
Doors open at 8pm and admission is £5. For more details visit www.theboxcrewe.co.uk
