Runcorn actress Jennifer Tan returns home to The Brindley with Fuse Theatre

AN ACTRESS raised in Runcorn is returning to her home town to perform in a play about extremism.

In Not In My Name Jennifer Tan plays two characters – a police officer and a girl caught up in a bomb attack.

Fuse, the theatre company behind the play, describes it as a ‘bold, challenging play that lets young people explore issues around terrorism and extremism’.

The play follows the events of a terror attack as seen by a group of young people. At the end an interactive forum lets the audience ‘rewind’ the play and discuss alternative courses of action.

Jennifer, a former Helsby High and Oxford School of Drama student, will be performing a couple of hundred yards from where she developed a taste for the stage.

She said: “I used to do youth theatre in the auditorium in Runcorn Library and getting into acting was a long road from when I played a spider in our infant school play!”

The play runs from February 23-27 and tickets are free. For details, call 0151 708 0877 or The Brindley box office on 0151 907 8360.
