North Wales Jazz Society welcomes The Djangonauts to Llay RBL

THE new season of weekly concerts at the Royal British Legion in Llay, Wrexham, continues on Tuesday, February 16, with a performance by Sheffield based acoustic jazz quartet The Djangonauts.

Inspired by the style and repertoire of the legendary Django Reinhardt, the band is led by young jazz guitarist Chris Walker, who has been heard at clubs and festivals throughout the north of England.

A highly popular choice for the world renowned North Wales International Jazz Guitar Festival, Chris has played with many of the country’s jazz greats including Jim Mullen, Alan Barnes and John Etheridge.

Featured on accordion is Canadian-born Piero Tucci, who emigrated to England in 2003, after many years as a major figure on the Toronto music scene as music director.

Completing the line-up are Kevin Walker on double bass and Phil Johnson on drums.

The concert starts at 8.30pm and admission is £6, concessions £5.
