FOLLOWING two sell-out weeks at The Lowry, Calendar Girls returns to the Salford Quays theatre next week.
Calendar Girls has become the fastest-selling tour ever and has triumphed in the West End.
Now it’s back for one final season starring Calendar Girls regular Lynda Bellingham.
Joining her for the final tour are Gemma Atkinson, Letitia Dean, Hannah Waterman, Jan Harvey and acting veteran Judith Barker.
Together they tell the tale of a very ordinary Yorkshire WI, whose members persuade one another to pose for a charity calendar with a difference – meaning no more photos of Wharfedale bridges or Norman churches.
Overcoming their initial reserve, the friends drop their dressing gowns, with their modesty spared only by strategically placed cakes, knitting and flower arrangements.
Puzzling their husbands, mortifying their children and riding the wrath of the outraged WI, they spark a global frenzy.
The original Calendar Girls calendar was made in memory of Angela Baker's husband John who died of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma 10 years ago.
Calendar Girls runs from Tuesday until Saturday, February 20. Shows start at 7.30pm with 2pm matinee performances on the Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Tickets are priced £15-£27, to book phone the box office on 0843 208 6000 or visit www.thelowry.com.
