Mike Tyson to be guest speaker at the sportman’s dinner organised by Vauxhall Motors Amateur Boxing Club, Ellesmere Port

MIKE Tyson, the self-titled ‘Baddest Man on the Planet’, is visiting Ellesmere Port.

Iron Mike, one of the most controversial heavyweight champions in boxing history, is the star guest at a sportsman’s dinner organised by Vauxhall Motors Amateur Boxing Club at the town’s Civic Hall on Sunday, March 14.

Tyson will be joined by Sky Sports pundit and former IBF cruiserweight king Glenn McCrory.

Coach Bernie Hart, who is organising the event, said: “We are all really excited. He’s an absolute legend in boxing and is known worldwide.”

“He’s going to get up and talk about his career and do a question-and-answer session. He’s doing five dates in the UK and our tickets are the cheapest on the tour.”

Tyson still remains the youngest man yet to lift the world heavyweight crown, but his career has often been surrounded by controversy.

He served three years in prison in the early 1990s after being convicted of rape, and in 1997 was disqualified for biting off part of Evander Holyfield’s ear in their title rematch.

Prices are £95 for platinum tickets, £65 for gold and £45 for silver. For ticket information, call Bernie Hart on 07540 118863 or email vmabc@hotmail.com.
