Grumpy Old Man Arthur Smith launches new season at The Brindley in Runcorn

TV FUNNY man, writer and star of Grumpy Old Men, Arthur Smith, kicks off the new season at The Brindley in Runcorn tomorrow. He presents a show called Variety Lives!, which also features the star of Red Dwarf Hattie Hayridge, up and coming comedian Barbara Nice and duo Ruby Wood and Noah Burton, with a mix of comedy and music.

Another TV comedian Sean Hughes from Never Mind The Buzzcocks, also appears at the multi-award winning venue on February 16.

There is the usual wide range of music from the British soul legends The Real Thing on March 19, prog-rockers Wishbone Ash on May 7, gifted folk singer Cara Dillon on April 16 and a World Music event on February 25, when Justin Adams and Juldeh Camara present an exciting fusion which brings Clash style punk energy to West African trance music.

Jazz fans are in for a treat when legend, Acker Bilk plays on June 24 and the BBC Jazz Awards winner Stacey Kent on May 10.
