Doll and the Kicks to play the Ruby Lounge, Manchester, and Korova, Liverpool

UP-AND-COMING band Doll and The Kicks are to play in Manchester and Liverpool as part of a UK tour after supporting Morrissey in Europe and Russia.

Having formed in 2005 in Brighton, Doll and the Kicks have now shot into the limelight.

They recently packed out the venues Camden Barfly and Concorde 2 in London.

In 2008 Morrissey asked the band to support his upcoming world tour, and by the end of 2009 they had performed more than 70 gigs with ‘The Bard’ in more than 20 countries, selling more than 500 copies of their debut album.

Artrocker said of the band: “All attitude, radiating confidence, striking poses and delivering high quality, driven, eccentric pop.”

Many commentators have likened the vocals and stage performances to Siouxsie Sioux and Karen from The Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

The band have gained a huge amount of media coverage recently Sub TV, Channel M and BBC Radio 2.

They are performing at the Ruby Lounge, Manchester, on Wednesday, February 10, and Korova, Liverpool, on Friday, February 12.
