THE Brindley has unveiled an exciting line up of top acts which are coming to the venue over in the first half of 2010.
Comedian Arthur Smith, writer and star of Grumpy Old Men, launches the new season on January 29 with Variety Lives!, which also features Hattie Hayridge from Red Dwarf, rising comic Barbara Nice and duo Ruby Wood and Noah Burton.
Sean Hughes, from Never Mind The Buzzcocks, arrives at the venue on Tuesday, February 16.
Music fans are also in for a treat with a world music event featuring a mix of punk and West African trance music on February 25.
Also performing are folk singer Cara Dillon on April 16, prog rockers Wishbone Ash on May 7 and soul legends The Real Thing on March 19.
A wealth of classical music is also on the cards with Russian piano master Alexander Karpeyev on January 30, the Sitkovetsky Trio on February 27 and Halton’s own piano maestro, Martin Roscoe, on March 20.
BBC Jazz Awards winner Stacey Kent plays on May 10 and jazz legend Acker Bilk performs on June 24.
Dramatic productions include Not In My Name, a play based on terrorism and extremism, which runs from February 23-27, and Sherlock Holmes…The Death & Life starring Roger Llewelyn on March 12.
Family shows such as Essence of Ireland, All Our Yesterdays 2 and the C’mon Everybody Rock & Roll Nostalgia Show are also in the pipeline.
