Sex Pistol fans Last Gang in Town line up gigs in Widnes and Runcorn at Halfway House, the Brow, the Griffin and the Red Admiral

POPULAR punk outfit Last Gang in Town have lined up their first Halton gigs of the year.

The band have been invited to play at some of the country’s top punk festivals and are already fully booked for the whole of 2010 – with events lined up all over the North of England.

But Runcornian rocker Gary Walker said he is always excited to bring the band ‘home’ and is determined to get people off their couches and into some live music venues.

He said: “We’ve built up a really good following in Halton thanks to the Weekly News.

“But there are loads of people who are still unaware of the wonderful world outside their living rooms!”

The band are playing at the following venues:

Halfway House, Runcorn, on Friday, January 29.

The Brow, Widnes, on Saturday, February 6.

The Griffin, Widnes, on Saturday, February 13.

The Red Admiral, Runcorn, on Saturday, March 27

All of the band’s gigs across the country can be found on their website www.lgit.co.uk.

Gary added: “The excitement and nostalgia of our tribute to classic 70s punk has been overwhelming at times.

“We’ve been invited to play at some of the top punk festivals but being a Runcorn lad I love to bring the band home.”

Lead singer Tony Brown travels all the way from Leeds to jam with the rest of the band and says he can hardly wait for the Halton gigs.

He said: “It’s great to meet people from different areas of the country who are into the same music as I am. Your lot from Halton are some of the most enthusiastic and best audience we get at our gigs.

“You’re always turning up to support us and it makes the journey worthwhile!”
