THE Charlotte Glasson Band is to make a welcome return to Telford’s Warehouse in Chester on February 13.
Last year saw the band win the Best Newcomer Award at The Marlborough Jazz Festival, and also feature in Jazz Live, a lottery-funded film about the London jazz scene.
This tour supports the release of a new album, Charlotte’s Web, the band’s third. Concentrating mainly on Charlotte’s original compositions, the band creates a colourful jazz sound, weaving melodies, pumping bass lines and intricate Brazilian rhythms.
Charlotte Glasson is a multi-instrumentalist, playing in a wide variety of music and theatre. She plays all the saxophones, flute and alto flute, clarinet, violin and viola, penny whistle, melodica and percussion.
She even plays the saw and junk wood marimba in The Lost and Found Orchestra, the new show by the creators of Stomp.
Tickets for the band’s gig on February 13 at Telford’s Warehouse can be obtained by ringing 01244 390090 or visiting www.telfordswarehouse.com.
