Les Dennis to star in High School Musical 2 at the Liverpool Empire

THE Wildcats are back as High School Music 2 comes to the Empire Theatre, Liverpool.

And an unlikely recruit to the cast is Liverpool’s own Les Dennis, who will return to the scene of his recent panto triumph when he plays Mr Fulton.

He will be joined by GMTV’s Search for Troy winner Liam Doyle, who takes the coveted Zac Efron role of Troy Bolton in the show, which can be seen from February 1-6.

Local lad and ex-Empire Theatre usher James Lacey, a runner-up in GMTV’s talent search, will play Jack Scott.

The principal cast also includes Nikki Mae as Gabriella Montez, Matt Kennedy as Ryan Evans and Laura Hall as Sharpay Evans. Carlton Connell will play Chad Danforth, with Shakira Akabusi as Taylor McKessie, Dina Tree as Martha Cox and Emma Dukes as Kelsi Neilson.

Troy, Gabriella, Taylor and Chad all land summer jobs at an exclusive country club but it’s not going to be an easy ride as Ryan and Sharpay are vacationing there too.
