Blues band Rhythm Blues play Buckley’s Academy on January 23

THE blues are heading for Buckley as acclaimed UK band Rhythm Zoo prepares to play The Academy on Saturday.

Rhythm Zoo’s sound is dominated by the blistering guitar of Steve Alden and the captivating vocals of Wrexham- born Andi Harrison.

The band is completed by drummer Dermot Hall, sax player Dave Roberts, George Robey (keyboards) and bassist Roy Reid.

Rhythm Zoo are rapidly becoming one the leading blues groups in the UK, combining great traditional, Chicago and Delta blues.

They are currently working on material for their 2010 set, which is likely to include the old Willie Dixon/Buddy Guy number Pretty Baby and the Etta James classic Leap of Faith.
