Eleven-piece band Bellowhead coming to William Aston Hall in Wrexham

WILD, joyous, perverse, epic but mostly big are some of the adjectives regularly used to describe the mighty 11-piece Bellowhead.

You can make up your own mind when they come to the William Aston Hall at Glyndr University, Wrexham, on Saturday, January 30, at 8pm.

They have played everywhere from Glastonbury to The Big Chill and raised the roof at the first Royal Albert Hall BBC Proms Day dedicated to folk, as well as being band in residence at London’s Southbank Centre.

The group continues to push the boundaries of traditional roots music with an ever-increasing fan base that includes the West Coast’s Red Hot Chili Peppers and the West Country’s Frank Skinner.

Bellowhead uniquely merge folk, music hall, disco, jazz, sea shanties and world music influences with dashes of English Music Hall and cabaret.

Between them the musicians play more than 20 instruments, while six of them sing.
