Nantwich Young Farmers prepare for festive panto favourite

FINAL preparations are being put together for the 40th Nantwich Young Farmers panto, Aladdin.

Celebrations have already begun to mark the occasion with an anniversary party on December 4, where cast members past and present reminisced past pantomimes and fantastic fundraising achievements.

The panto has raised a superb £45,503 for local and national charities and organisers hope to add a significant amount to that tally this time around.

Chairlady Emma Boffey said: “Everyone involved over the years in their production, both front and back stage, should be congratulated on this fundraising achievement which has helped so many people while giving fun to all the casts and wonderful audiences who have supported our pantomimes right from the beginning.”

The chosen production this year is traditional panto favourite Aladdin, produced by Young Farmers panto stalwart Matt Mellor and choreographed by Sarah Stapleton.

The leading ‘lady’ Widow Twanky is Stuart Symms, with Aladdin and Princess Jasmin played by Ryan Booth and Beth Ford.

Chairlady Emma hopes to have audiences booing and hissing as the evil Abanazar.

The two charities to be supported by the panto are Hope House Children’s Hospice and Leukaemia Research.

The show runs from Wednesday to Saturday, January 13-16 at Acton Village Hall. For tickets, priced £5, phone Joyce Percival on 01270 624158.
