The Perfect Night brings Judge Jules and Boy George to Chester Racecourse for New Year’s Eve ball
Start 2010 with a bang as Chester Racecourse hosts superstar DJs for its New Year’s Eve ball.
The Perfect Night is bringing Judge Jules and Boy George to Chester for a 2009 finale to remember.
Judge Jules has been a regular on BBC Radio 1 since 1997 and hosts Judgement Sundays throughout the summer at Eden in Ibiza.
The Chronicle spoke to Judge Jules about his previous visits to Chester.
He said: “I have been on a couple of occasions, to relatively small clubs, in the dead of night, but from what I saw and experienced it seems like a good place to have a party.”
Speaking about the city having to compete with the likes of Liverpool and Manchester Judge Jules said: “Sometimes you find the best nights don’t happen in the largest cities, it’s the unusual events and locations which create a special atmosphere.”
Looking ahead to the New Year bash and 2010 the Judge said: “I always try and make any New Year’s Eve set a little out of the ordinary, with a couple of surprises, but mainly it will be music to make the New Year start with a bang.”
Peter Wilson and Pez Tellett are the men in charge of Perfect Night, both with more than 15 years’ experience promoting events throughout the country.
They have organised some of the biggest clubbing events in the North West including the Ministry of Sound, Cream, Anthems Space, Miss Moneypenny’s, Chuff Chuff, Hed kandi and Clubland.
Pez said: “We feel that the beautiful city of Chester, with its fantastic heritage, culture and fun-loving people, is well overdue for an event such as this.
“Having been in negotiation with Chester Racecourse for many years, we are delighted to be bringing the brand to Chester with a very special line-up to see in the New Year, including household names such as Boy George and Judge Jules.
“The County Stand will be transformed with a full-club makeover for this very special event and there will be a private firework display at midnight to bring in the New Year.”
