Upbeat Beatles come to William Aston Hall in Wrexham

THE Upbeat Beatles will re-create the sound of the Fab Four when they appear at the William Aston Hall in Wrexham on Friday, December 11 at 7.30pm.

John Wilson, who plays Paul McCartney, has a musical pedigree worthy of Macca himself.

His first major recording contract was with a band called The Dodgers, which he formed with Tommy Evans who, of course, was formerly bass player vocalist and writer with rock legends Badfinger – the group signed to The Beatles’ record label, Apple, and their debut album was produced by none other than George Harrison and Sir Paul McCartney.

In 1986, John joined The Average White Band (AWB) as lead vocalist and co-writer, replacing Hamish Stewart who had left the band to work with McCartney.

The rest of the band consists of Roger Channing (John Lennon), Colin Yates (George Harrison) and Paul Jarrett (Ringo Starr).

Tickets are £15, £13 concessions, available at www.glyndwr.ac.uk or on 01978 292015.
