THE Douglas Macmillan Hospice will be hosting its seventh annual Light Up A Life evening at Stoke’s Victoria Hall.
The event is a mixture of communal singing, readings, prayers and performances by local choirs and musicians.
A theatre spokesman said: “It is also an opportunity for people of all faiths to join together to dedicate the lights on the hospice Christmas tree in memory of their loved ones.”
The show starts at 2.30pm.

NINETIES superstars Take That are replicated in smash-hit musical Never Forget.
The show is currently enjoying massive success on a full UK tour.
It is packed with anthems including the chart-topping Relight My Fire, Pray, Back For Good, Babe and of course, Never Forget.

The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe (New Vic Theatre, Newcastle-under-Lyme, until January 23)
C S Lewis’s timeless classic tale is transporting audiences to the magical world of Narnia at the New Vic Theatre.
The story is being faithfully retold in a new dramatisation by New Vic artistic director, Theresa Heskins.
A theatre spokeswoman said: “This classic story of good versus evil in a dazzling production will enchant children and whisk parents and grandparents back to their childhoods.”

THE streets of Stoke will be paved with gold this Christmas as this year’s pantomime, Dick Whittington hits the stage.
Stoke’s own Jonathan Wilkes returns for his fifth successive Potteries panto appearance and he will be hoping to top an astonishing run of record-breaking years.
Joining Jonathan this year is singing sensation Sheila Ferguson, who will be playing the part of Fairy Oatcakes, actress and model Amy Diamond as Alice Fitzwilliams and the hilarious Christian Patterson as dame Sarah the Cook.
Theatre spokesman Dave Bradbury said: “Dick Whittington promises to provide all the ingredients for the perfect panto – sensational songs, dazzling dance routines, plenty of audience participation and side-splitting comedy.” Show times vary.
