HULL’S finest The Paddingtons headline at The Box in Crewe on Friday.
Formed in 2002, the five-piece demanded attention with their infectious blend of raw anthemic punk/pop.
A spokesman for the Pedley Street venue said: “ Soon enough they were scooped up and signed to Alan McGee’s’ Poptones label.
“Favoured by ex-Libertines frontman Pete Doherty, they have since toured with his current band Babyshambles and have supported the likes of The Cribs and The View.”
In 2005 the band signed a deal with Mercury Records and released their debut album, the critically acclaimed First Comes First.
Their follow-up album, No Mundane Options, was released on their own record label, Mama Bear Records, in 2008 and they are pushing ahead with another album next year.
A spokesman said: “The band are currently touring Germany and the UK and are set to enter the next decade with a renewed love for rock ‘n’ roll, ready to create the next chapter in the band’s history.”
Support comes from Sandbach band The Academics as well as The Fortunas and The Way from Stoke. Doors open at 8pm.
