Stately home to become winter wonderland

THE magic of Christmas comes to Erddig, the National Trust property near Wrexham, this December.

For the three weekends leading up to the festive holiday the timber yard and outbuildings will be transformed into a Christmas market and Winter Wonderland for Father Christmas.

There will be more than 30 chalets and stalls offering a variety of great gift ideas including jewellery, wood carvings, toys, clothing, baskets of food and drink.

Father Christmas will be meeting children in his grotto by the toy workshop.

Outside again in the timber yard visitors will be able to buy roasted chestnuts, try a glass of mulled wine and enjoy hot turkey rolls with stuffing of course. There will also be live music to entertain everyone while they are busy shopping.

The gardens, restaurant and National Trust shop will be open too so as well as buying all those gifts you can relax in the winter gardens.

The Erddig Christmas markets are open every weekend during December from 11am-4pm.

Father Christmas will be arriving on Saturday, December 5, at 11am. Get here early that day to see him arrive on a horse and carriage played in by the Llay Brass Band and welcomed by the Mayor of Tilston, Jim Blake.

Entrance to the Christmas market is free. There is a charge of £4 per child to see Father Christmas where you can spend time in the grotto and receive a special present from Santa himself. Tickets cannot be bought in advance, buy them as you arrive at the market.
