COMEDY is back at The Lowry in Salford Quays next week with the return of Reginald D Hunter.
Having initially travelled to England as a serious theatre student, Hunter became a comedian after performing his first comedy set as a dare.
Realising he enjoyed it, and there was money in it, Hunter diverted his attention from his acting ambitions and re-focussed on stand-up.
He has since performed around the world and has appeared in some of the UK’s most popular prime-time TV programmes having made star turns on BBC panel shows Have I Got News For You, 8 Out Of 10 Cats, Never Mind The Buzzcocks, and ITV’s Newsknight with Sir Trevor McDonald.
Alabama-born Hunter first made his mark on the UK circuit in 1998, when he was a finalist in So You Think You’re Funny.
He has also been appearing in his own acclaimed one-man shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festivals since 2002.
He is one of the few performers to have been nominated for the Perrier Award in three consecutive years.
The show starts at 8pm on Wednesday, November 4. Tickets are priced £15, to book phone The Lowry box office on 0870 787 5780 or visit www.thelowry .com.
