MONSTERS of Mayhem is back in Runcorn this Hallowe’en.
Five acts are set to rock The Quayside in Canal St, including Widnes band Paraffin Oil Shop and headliners The Lucky Rainbow Club.
Ben Furfie, events manager, said: “Runcorn’s music scene has been crying out for a well-run, organised event at a venue that listens and responds to what people want.
“We’re confident the relaunch will give local bands the right venue to gain experience and recruit new fans.”
Originally created for young Halton bands to showcase their talents, Monsters of Mayhem now books bands from across the UK.
Completing this year’s line-up are Battleplans, Gas Mask Fashion and Freedom of Zpeech.
As part of its revival, Monsters of Mayhem is now held only on occasions like Hallowe’en, Christmas and Easter. An over-18 age limit has also been put in place.
Ben added: “The shift towards an 18-plus event is to help Monsters of Mayhem become a major force in the North West.”
Ben said nuisance underage drinkers will also be addressed. He said: “We’re keen to prevent those problems and feel this move will solve the problem.”
In addition to five live acts punters will have the chance to win a guitar and Guitar Hero 5 game bundle.
For guest list entry, email guestlist@furfiemedia.co.uk. Entry is £4 before 9pm, £5 on the door.
Monsters of Mayhem is at The Quayside on Saturday, October 31.
