Devon Sproule brings latest UK tour to Telford’s Warehouse in Chester

VIRGINIA’S Devon Sproule, who released her new album, Don’t Hurry For Heaven in May, has announced a series of UK shows which includes a gig at Telford’s Warehouse, Chester, on Tuesday, October 20.

She spent two years touring her previous album Keep Your Silver Shined, and then went back to the studio to record new material featuring her regular touring band including legendary pedal steel player BJ Cole.Š

“Last year was a good one,” said Sproule, “and full of adventures. I drove myself all the way from Scotland on the left side of the road for a radio show. I learned the intro to Johnny B Goode before 8am in a Spanish hotel.

“Musically, after a whole summer of festivals in the UK, my band was feeling great. It would’ve been a shame not to capture something from that time, to let that phase of our playing evaporate into the next. So we booked this studio out in the country.”
