Bucks Fizz at Hanley’s Victoria Hall for one night only

IT’S time for Making Your Mind Up if you want to catch the Original Bucks Fizz when they appear at Hanley’s Victoria Hall next week.

The reformed group, who shot to fame in 1981 after winning the Eurovision Song Contest, are back with their first tour for 24 years with three original members next Wednesday (October 21).

Cheryl Baker, Jay Aston and Mike Nolan hit the stage at 7.30pm.

The two-man, two-woman harmony outfit, who enjoyed international fame during their hey-day in the 1980s, were originally put together with the simple purpose of singing Making Your Mind Up.

Realising they needed a name, the group’s co-creator Nichola Martin quickly decided on Bucks Fizz because it was her favourite drink.

A Victoria Hall spokeswoman says: “We are very excited to have the original Bucks Fizz here. They are still massively popular so go and dig out your mini-skirts because it promises to be a really great show.

“They are appearing for one night only so it is definitely not to be missed.”

The group promise a set packed with songs such as Piece Of The Action, One Of Those Nights , The Land of Make Believe and My Camera Never Lies.

For tickets, priced £17.50 to £19.50, phone the box office on 0844 871 7649, or visit the website at www.ambassadortickets.com.
