Telegraphs head up four-band MMU Cheshire Freshers’ Special at The Box, Crewe

ONE of this year's breaking bands Telegraphs are fast turning into an unstoppable pop-rock monster.

The Brighton five-piece arrive at The Box on Friday for an MMU Cheshire Freshers’ Special following the release of their debut album We Were Ghosts.

The release was recorded on a mountain side in Snowdonia with acclaimed producer Dave Eringa (Manic Street Preachers, Idlewild, Kylie Minogue).

Telegraphs combine delicacy with bite and soaring vocals with spine tingling choruses.

The Crewe show precedes a range of UK dates with Funeral For A Friend then with Eagles Of Death Metal. They have tours with The Datsuns and The Dykeenies already behind them.

After receiving early doors coverage from the likes of The Fly, Kerrang! and Rock Sound, it is easy to see why many are tipping 2009 to be the year that Telegraphs’ success in Brighton spreads throughout the UK and beyond.

Support on the night comes from Crewe act Sumo Kings, Alsager’s Troops of Mafeking and Motion Theory.

Tickets are £7. Doors are from 8pm. For more information, visit www. theboxcrewe.co.uk.
