Busy time for BBC Philharmonic Orchestra at Manchester's Bridgewater Hall

THE prestigious BBC Philharmonic Orchestra has a series of concerts coming up.

On November 7, they appear at Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall to play works including Bartok’s Violin Concerto No. 2 and Rachmaninoff’s Symphony No. 2.

They return on Friday, November 20, playing classics from Shoshtakovich, Brahms and Sibelius.

Tickets for both Bridgewater performances range in price, from £9-£31. Tickets can be bought via the box office on 0161 907 9000 or online at www.bridgewater-hall.co.uk.

‘The Phil’ are also going to be making two consecutive appearances at Maxwell Hall, part of the University of Salford campus.

The first concert is on Friday, November 27, at 7pm – followed the next day with a performance at 4pm.

The playlist includes performances of Haydn’s The Creation, Brahms’ Violin Concerto and Symphony No. 1 by Sibelius.

The orchestra is back on the trail on December 3 with a performance at the University of Lancaster and they’re back in Bridgewater the following night for a performance broadcast live on BBC3 featuring Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake.

They’re at the Victoria Hall in Hanley on Friday, December 11.
