Ian Brown to play Manchester’s MEN Arena

LIVING legend Ian Brown has scheduled a major UK tour to air his latest release inspired by the late Michael Jackson.

The 16 date winter tour kicks off on Sunday, November 29, in Leicester, before circuiting mid-size venues, culminating in a finale show in his adoptive hometown of Manchester at the MEN Arena on Sunday, December 19.

My Way, Brown’s sixth solo outing, is tipped to live up to the high expectations of critics and fans, following his admission that Jackson's seminal 1982 album Thriller was a blueprint.

Forerunner of the Madchester scene, Brown has a colourful and critically acclaimed past picking up numerous awards along the way.

Crowned ‘Godlike Genius’ by NME in 2006 and ‘Legend’ by Q in 2007, the man famously nicknamed ‘King Monkey’ revealed that My Way had its final day of mixing and mastering the same day his own hero Jackson tragically died.

This year is also the 20th anniversary of the release of The Stone Roses’ eponymous debut album, recorded at London’s Battery Studios where much of My Way was written, ensuring Brown’s new work is rooted in music history.

The first single, Stellify, will be released through Fiction on September 21.
