Inspire 09 (Lyceum Theatre, Crewe, September 12-13)

A SHOWCASE of the X Academy’s talents comes to Crewe’s Lyceum next week.

The Nantwich-based school specialises in providing a platform for professionally trained dancers over 16, to inspire a younger generation of performers.

A spectacular night of song and dance of all genres to suit all ages is promised, including musical theatre, R ‘n’ B and classical ballet.

Academy principal Jacqui Richards said: “Come along and be inspired, whatever your age or ability.”

There are three shows, at 7.30pm on the Saturday, and 1.30pm and 5.30pm on the Sunday. Tickets re £9 and £11, phone the box office on 01270 537333 to book.

Sally Morgan (Opera House, Manchester September 3)

TELEVISION psychic Sally Morgan brings her Audience With show to Manchester tomorrow (Thursday).

She has embarked on a UK tour following the success of her own TV show Sally Morgan Star Psychic.

She made a name for herself when she worked with Princess Diana, having provided personal readings for more than four years.

She claims her psychic power has been with her since she was nine-months-old, and has since built up a reputation based on her close relationships with many high-profile celebrities.

In the show, she will be giving psychic readings to audience members as part of the evening.

How The Other Half Loves (New Vic Theatre, Newcastle-under-Lyme, September 2-19)

A RARE ‘in-the-round’ revival at the New Vic will end a 40-year wait for Alan Ayckbourn fans as the master of comedy returns to one of his most famous works.

A new production of How The Other Half Loves marks the first time the legendary playwright has returned to direct the play, since its world premiere in 1969.

The revival also heralds a rare return to the round for Ayckbourn’s play. Despite being created specifically for the space, the production is its first at a theatre-in-the-round for 40 years.

Kevin ‘Bloody’ Wilson (Victoria Hall, Hanley, September 6)

OUTRAGEOUS Aussie comedian Kevin Bloody Wilson comes to The Potteries on Sunday.

Without the aid of radio or TV coverage, due to the explicit crude sexual nature of his songs and general humour, he has built up a loyal following all over the world.

He is regarded by Billy Connolly as the “world’s funniest Australian”, and dedicates two weeks of his annual touring schedule to entertaining Australian and allied troops in global war zones.
