DESCRIBED as Oscar Wilde meets Withnail And I, Jon Byrne’s raw, passionate delivery of slices of real life from Barrow-in-Furness comes to The Frog & Nightingale, on Friday, September 18.
Backed by a new band, including Bobby Kewley, of The Christians, on bass and Paul Tsanos who played with Pete Wylie and Ian McNabb, on drums.
Following the protest music of the 60s and with the spirit of punk, Jon Byrne’s music is loaded with his finger on the trigger of social commentary.
After a performance to a packed audience at Glastonbury’s Left Field stage, he won the new artist award and the opportunity to put out his album through Militant records.
