SOUL diva Gladys Knight embarks on her Farewell UK Tour this autumn which comes to the Echo Arena Liverpool on October 15.
Gladys began her lengthy music career in the 1950s when she performed alongside her brother, sister and cousins in The Pips.
In 1959, the group took on a new name Gladys Knight & The Pips and with this they secured their first big hit in America with a cover version of Every Beat of My Heart.
They received international recognition when they signed up to the world famous Motown record label.
Their hit single, Midnight Train To Georgia, remains one of the most famous Motown records to date and was honoured as one of The Greatest Songs Of All Time by Rolling Stone magazine.
After almost three decades together Gladys Knight & The Pips spilt and Gladys went onto become a global superstar.
Career highlights included recording the official theme song to the James Bond movie Licence To Kill, winning 11 Grammy awards and receiving a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame.
