COMEDIAN Michael McIntyre continues his meteoric rise to fame when he visits Hanley’s Regent Theatre shortly as part of a UK tour.
The 33-year-old comedian has become a household name almost overnight, after he burst on to the national scene last year.
His observational skills have attracted widespread praise, and he was nominated for Best Live Stand Up at the 2008 British Comedy Awards.
He was the fastest-selling comedian at the Edinburgh Festival and he was also nominated for the 2009 South Bank Show Awards for Best Comedian.
He started out in 2003, and six years later his debut DVD Live and Laughing became the fastest selling debut DVD ever.
Aside from his live shows, he also regularly appears on current affairs and satirical shows, such as Mock The Week, 8 Out Of 10 Cats and Have I Got News For You.
But his own stand-up show Michael McIntyre's Comedy Road Show in a BBC1 prime time slot has boosted his reputation further, and tickets for his Hanley show will be at a premium.
The show starts at 8pm on Monday, August 31, and may be unsuitable for under-15s. Tickets are £31, phone the box office on 0844 871 7649.
